Creative Self-Care for Helping Professionals
Saturday, November 21 | 10:00 AM–3:00 PM | Portland, Maine
As helping professionals, we often spend much of our time tending to the needs and emotions of others. While this work can be deeply meaningful, the ongoing emotional demands of caring for and supporting the needs of others can contribute to chronic stress, overwhelm, and compassion fatigue. Developing intentional practices that support our own well-being is essential to sustaining ourselves in this meaningful work.
This workshop is an interactive, experiential workshop facilitated by a registered art therapist and a board-certified music therapist, that invites participants to explore creative expression as a pathway toward self-awareness, emotional regulation, and restoration. Participants are offered an opportunity to reconnect with curiosity, self-compassion, play, and different methods of creative expression. No previous experience with art or music is required. Participants will leave with practical creative self-care strategies that can be adapted to their individual needs and used to support their work with clients.
Virtual full moon retreat, full day virtual retreat including soundscapes and art-making to become aware of and clear away what no longer serves us, and to explore and recommit to our heart's vision. Learn how artistic and creative expression can help you find release, peace, and hope.
Creative Tools for Clinical Practice, experiential workshop designed for behavioral health professionals who are interested in learning more about incorporating elements of art and music therapy into their clinical practice.
